What a whale of a time for 8-5-22 to 8-7-22
Another beautiful weekend on The Atlantic Pearl! As you can see from the photos below, the Whales were highly active this weekend. They saw fluke showing, terminal diving, breath exchanges, lunge feeding, a quick moving duo tale slapping, pectoral fin showing, double lunge, and logging. Sand sharks or mako sharks were feeding off the bunker. We saw large schools of Cownose Rays, very active pods of bottlenose dolphins, and a small pod of spinner sharks swimming all around the boat! And don’t forget the birds they saw: osprey, black-backed gull, laughing gull, herring gull, snowy egret, great egret, American oystercatcher, common tern, and black skimmer. Every trip is different, but they have all been amazing lately!
Thanks, Heidi Lechner and Dana Trojca, for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
