A beautiful Wednesday on the Atlantic Pearl – Full Report – Whale Watching Cruise 8-24-2022

A beautiful Wednesday on The Atlantic Pearl! The Whale we found was a returning whale to the area, quick moving, with frequent direction changes. They saw multiple fluke showings, terminal dives, breath exchanges, at least two lunge feedings, and a possible breach. A lot of jellyfish were seen on the trip to the highlands. They were easy to spot because the water was extremely calm and clean. The light white color of the jellyfish contrasted against the color of the water And don’t forget the birds they saw: osprey, black-backed gull, laughing gull, herring gull, snowy egret, great egret, American oystercatcher, common tern, and black skimmer. Every trip is different, but they have all been amazing lately!

Thanks, Heidi Lechner, Jessica Schaeffer, and Dana Trojca  for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
