Holy Whales Batman! – Full Report – Whale Watching Cruise 9-3-22 to 9-5-22 on the Atlantic Pearl

This whale-watching season has been crazy on the Atlantic Pearl, and these trips were mind-blowing. They saw countless breaches, pectoral fin slaps, fluke showings, breath exchanges, terminal dives, lunge feedings, many whales spotted, and one very active whale was a returning whale. On One of these trips, they spotted a great blue or tricolored heron flying over the marsh near the canal. Also, they got to see a very active, playful pod of about 50 to 75 bottlenose dolphins. Let’s not forget about the birds they saw; osprey, cormorant, black-backed gull’ laughing gull, herring gull, snowy egret, great egret, and common tern. Every trip is different, but they have all been amazing lately!

Thanks, Dana Trojca, and Heidi Lechner, for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
