A Whale of an Adventure – 11/4/23  Whale Watching Cruises

On 11-4-23, Saturday’s trip, we got to see four whales. One of the four we saw was believed to be a returning whale that we had previously seen on trips. The active whale put on a show full of countless lunge feeds. We also saw terminal dives, breath exchanges, and fluke showings. As for other marine life seen during our trip, we saw several different winter birds that call Long Island home during the winter. It was hard not to notice the massive groups of brants in the water. We also saw several northern gannets flying over us, and those are always a treat to see. We saw several cormorants, too.

Thanks to Dana Trojca for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
