Another beautiful day on The Atlantic Pearl! 7-8-23 to 7-9-23 Whale Watching Cruises
Over the weekend, whale watching on The Atlantic Pearl was exciting and an excellent opportunity to witness some cute whales! On Saturday, we saw two juvenile humpback whales; one had very distinct markings on the dorsal fin, with several lunge feedings. Sunday, we saw six humpback whales. We witnessed several breaches, lunge feedings, fluke showings, and terminal dives; as we were heading back to the dock, we saw big splashes, and as we got closer, a humpback whale was breaching and doing countless fluke slaps. We also saw various birds, including ospreys, cormorants, snowy egrets, great egrets, blackback gulls, laughing gulls, black skimmers, and common terns.
Thanks to Dana Trojca for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
