A Whale of an Adventure – 5/27/24  Whale Watching Cruises

5/27/24: We had the chance to witness a variety of fascinating bird and aquatic species. The presence of ospreys, cormorants, snowy egrets, great egrets, American oystercatchers, and common terns left us in awe. The calm ocean provided perfect conditions for sailing and allowed us to concentrate on spotting whales and dolphins. Our efforts paid off as we were treated to the fantastic sight of 5 humpback whales, which delighted us with breaches, fluke slaps, pectoral slaps, and lunge feeds. The spectacle continued with at least 200 bottlenose dolphins from multiple pods, adding to the day’s excitement.

Thanks to Dana Trojca for the beautiful photos. Also, a big thank you to the New York Marine Rescue Center for their amazing volunteers!
